Scenic Surroundings

One of Cherry Gulch's most valuable assets is the breathtaking environment surrounding it. What better place to soothe a defiant child's anguish than a picturesque ranch nestled in the American West? Few boarding schools for troubled teens offer the beauty, solitude, and proximity to a metropolitan area that Cherry Gulch does. Education as nature intended.

Neighboring Area

Many boys boarding schools are too remote and can't provide troubled kids the opportunity to visit cultural venues like museums and historical sites. Boise is a short drive from Cherry Gulch and offers just that. There are 15 museums in Boise, five regional parks (2,700 acres), a zoo, the World Center for Birds of Prey, horse racing, cultural events (Ballet Idaho, Boise Philharmonic, Opera Idaho, Idaho Shakespeare Festival), a variety of restaurants, movie theaters, sports teams (Idaho Steelheads West Coast Hockey League team, Boise Hawks Minor League Baseball team, Idaho Stampede, a member of the Continental Basketball Association, and the Boise Burn Arena Football), and Boise State University Athletics. There are three ski areas near Boise and excellent opportunities for a variety of other winter sports. With Boise nearby, there is an unlimited variety of activities available to Cherry Gulch students that would not be available to students in more remote locations.

Easy Accessibility

Another benefit of being located near Boise is easy access to the airport. Boise offers the largest airport in the state which makes it convenient for parents to fly in to visit their children. For those with a private plane, Emmett has an airport with a 3,800 foot-long runway.
