Sonja Rhodes has been working with horses her entire life. She is originally from Nebraska and has moved to many different locations training horses. She moved to Emmett, Idaho in 2004 with her husband and two children and started working for Cherry Gulch in November of 2008.

   Sonja puts a lot of focus while working with the horses on her own attitude in order to keep the horses calm and willing to cooperate. She says, “Learn to get a handle on your emotions and your attitude while handling your horse.” She also likes to draw horses and has had her cartoon drawings published in a local newspaper.

   Sonja has worked successfully with horses that many people consider dangerous and un-trainable. She is not afraid of a challenge and is looking forward to the opportunity that Cherry Gulch can bring her.
