Leroy Poen was born in Idaho and grew up in the Treasure Valley. He moved to Arizona when he was sixteen but longed to come back to Idaho. He married in 2003 and by summer of 2005, he and his wife and her 12 year old son were able to move back to Emmett. They soon added a daughter and then a son to their family.

 In high school, Leroy enjoyed Wrestling and played football. He grew up on a farm and has served a mission in Alabama. He has also worked with the youth as a Scout leader and a teacher in his church. Formerly, he was in construction before joining the Cherry Gulch team and is looking forward to sharing his talents and strengths with the boys.
