Stephan is responsible for all aspects of student medical care,
medications and psychiatry appointments. Stephan has been here for a
couple of weeks and is eager to get to know each of our families. You
may have already spoken to him briefly but feel free to contact him to
introduce yourself or to address any medical related questions or
concerns you may have.
Stephan began his medical career in the United States Navy serving
honorably for twelve years as a Navy Corpsman. For the first half of his
military career, he performed duties as a Medic in multiple hospital
departments including Emergency Room, Behavior Health, Pharmacy,
Operating Room, Laboratory, OB/GYN and Physical Fitness.
Stephan spent the last half of his career serving with the "Green Side",
assigned to several Marine Corps units, he operated as a field Corpsman
with Special Forces Recon Marines treating injuries and providing care
during land, sea and air training operations. Due to his extensive
medical experience while serving in the military, Stephan was allowed to
sit for the Licensed Practical Nursing board, which he passed with
flying colors. He then began his career as a Nurse working in Behavioral
Health for the next eight years.This work included late stage
Alzheimers/Dementia units, Dual-Diagnosis Crisis treatment and
intervention, and working with the Police Department's P.E.R.T.
(Psychiatric Emergency Response Team) in San Diego, CA.
Stephan has a special love for music and has performed, recorded and
provided lessons on the acoustic and electronic drum kit for over twenty
years.He has toured the country of Japan playing in a band and has also
toured across the United States.Stephan attended a semester of school in
Paris studying French and enjoys experiencing and learning different
perspectives from different cultures.His favorite thing to do is spend
time with his beautiful wife who is also a Nurse.His other hobbies
include finding incredible deals at Goodwill and thrift stores, running,
weight training, and people watching while enjoying a delicious cup of
Espresso.
