Direct Care Staff
David was born and raised in Michigan. A youth enjoying summer camp, he was unexpectedly called upon when the director became ill. He would oversee camp life and acc ept Counseling responsibility for boys not much younger than himself. Later, Mr. King encouraged youths as the Manager of a Junior Sales Team while he came to embrace his eventual work. He took up Human Services caring for troubled boys in a Residential Diagnostic setting. David’s further experience in the field has included Assistant Teaching and In-House Supervision of severely emotionally disturbed young men. Parents have known his support through Behavioral Treatment initiatives at home. He graduated with distinction from Grand Valley State University earning his B.A., then researched therapeutic programs nationwide concerned for the well-being and growth of early adolescents struggling with serious life challenges. “Mr. Dave” would share with you, that focus on quality of services to boys and their families, defined the path which led him to Cherry Gulch. |
